Welcome to the Laboratory for Simulations of Flows using numerics (Lab SoFun for short)! We focus on using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to understand fluid flows, headed by Dr. Pradeep Moise (PM) at the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Kanpur, India.

High-performance computing for massively-parallel numerical simulations (XCompact3D, SBLI)
DNS, LES and RANS of incompressible and compressible flows
Linear stability analysis, modal decomposition and reconstruction
Flow phenomena: vortex breakdown, transonic buffet
Flow systems: flow over wings, swirl-stabilized combustors, cardiac flows, microfluidics, tornadoes
